Rainbow International based in East Tilbury offers extensive methods of restoring a property domestic or commercial. In this case, we were asked to dry 30 areas of a school whilst the school remained operational.
If you review the attached link you will see the method we used, that of target drying, in this case with heat mats. We were asked to undertake the works with the fastest method possible. Now heat mats are very good but are not the fastest method to dry out a horizontal flooded floor. The fastest method is through the use of heat generators which lifts air temps above 50 degrease Celsius. It was not possible to use this method as we were concerned about laminated surfaces which can be affected and damaged by excessive heat.
We used heat mats with the new Drymatic boost bars to maintain the temperatures below 35 c. They can be set at whatever level you want, the use of heat mats allows more control over the drying process ensuring no more damage was caused. We also used a combination of low grain dehumidifiers which work in higher temperatures to the refrigerant dehumidifiers alone side of desiccant dryers and blowers.
We used 55 heat mats covering 30 areas and dried the flooring in seven days. Setting up such a drying system does take longer than the traditional method of installing blowers and refrigerant dehumidifiers however the results speak for themselves.
You will see we also used the new Zipwall protection so to contain the heat and dust within the chamber, allowing the school to continue to operate.
At the end of the works, the school was delighted that they only lost one week and the builder who appointed us were able to move forward with their repairs.
